Convenient Services

Overdraft Protection Options

The Quest Visa Credit Card can serve as a regular credit card or a convenient option for overdraft protection. We simply set it up so that an advance on your card is automatically generated to cover your check when the funds are not available in your account. You then make regular monthly payments on your Visa balance, same as if you had made a purchase with your card. The funds available for overdraft protection are determined by the available balance on your credit card. You may also access any available funds in your savings account(s) as overdraft protection.

Overdraft sources may be used separately or together to give you as much flexibility as possible when using your checking account. Contact your local Quest Center to have these options set up for you.

U.S. Savings Bonds

Over the counter sales of U.S. Savings Bonds were discontinued as of December 31, 2011 at all financial institutions.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced it would end over-the counter (OTC) sales of paper savings bonds on December 31, 2011. While paper bonds are no longer sold at financial institutions, electronic savings bonds remain available for purchase through TreasuryDirect, a secure web-based system operated by the Bureau of the Public Debt.

Please visit www.treasurydirect.gov where you can purchase, manage, and redeem electronic savings bonds online. Electronic savings bonds are secure and convenient to manage in a TreasuryDirect account, and you will no longer have to worry about misplacing, losing or storing paper savings bonds. In addition, with a TreasuryDirect account, you can purchase electronic savings bonds as gifts and convert paper savings bonds to electronic ones.

Financial institutions are still able to redeem paper savings bonds. Quest will continue redeeming these paper bonds on your behalf. Also, paper bonds which have not yet matured but are lost, stolen, or destroyed can be reissued in paper or electronic form.
